Keep Your Floor Looking Sharp
Is it time to clean and seal your travertine floor?
Here are some of the specific signs and causes of wear and tear on your travertine floor that may mean it's due for cleaning and sealing.
Foot Traffic
High traffic areas can laccumulate of dirt, dust, and grime, which can dull the surface of the stone.
Spills & Stains
Acidic substances like juice, wine, or vinegar can etch and stain the travertine surface, requiring professional cleaning and sealing
Moisture Exposure
Prolonged exposure to water or moisture can lead to mold and mildew growth, particularly in grout lines and porous areas.
Crumbling, discolored, or moldy grout lines are a sign that moisture has penetrated the surface, which means your floor needs cleaning and resealing.
Wrong Cleaning Products
Using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners can damage the stone and strip away the sealant, making the floor more susceptible to stains and damage.
Sealant Wear
Over time, the protective sealant on travertine can wear off, leaving the stone vulnerable to scratches, etching, and staining.

Our commercial travertine floor cleaning and sealing process
Assessment and inspection. We evaluate the condition of your floor, noting stains, scratches and areas of concern..
Preparation. We clean the floor to remove surface dirt, dust and grime, usually with a neutral pH cleaner to avoid damaging the travertine.
Pre-Treatment. We apply a specialized stone cleaner to stains. W use a grout brush and a suitable cleaner to scrub grout lines, removing embedded dirt and stains.
Deep Cleaning. We use a floor buffer or rotary scrubber with a soft brush or pad to clean the travertine surface thoroughly. We use a pH-neutral cleaner specifically formulated for natural stone.
Rinsing and extraction. We rinse the floor to remove any cleaning solution residue. We use a wet vacuum or extraction machine to remove excess water and cleaning solution from the floor. Then we allow the floor to dry completely.
Sealing. We apply a high-quality penetrating sealer designed for travertine. We allow the sealer to penetrate and dry.
Final Buffing & Cleanup. We remove excess sealer with a buffer to avoid streaks or residue and allow the sealer to cure fully.
Maintenance. We give you instructions on how to maintain your newly restored travertine floors, including recommended cleaning products and techniques. We also suggest resealing every one or two years, depending on the floor's usage and exposure.
"Valet did an excellent job on our floors at our office. We have used them several times in the
