Our terrazzo floor restoration process

Assessment and inspection. We'll identify cracks, chips, stains, dullness, and any other damage.

Preparation. We clean the floor to remove surface dirt, grime, and old sealers. We protect walls, baseboards, and adjacent areas.

Repair cracks and chips. We use a terrazzo-specific filler or epoxy to fill in any cracks or chips. We color match the filler to the existing terrazzo to ensure a seamless repair. We allow the filler to dry completely, then sand it down to be level with the rest of the floor.

Grinding. We use a coarse diamond grinding pad to remove the top layer of the terrazzo, which helps to eliminate surface stains and scratches. We continue with finer diamond pads in successive stages to smooth the surface and prepare it for polishing.

Polishing. We use progressively finer diamond polishing pads to bring the terrazzo to a high shine. This step is crucial for achieving a glossy, mirror-like finish. In some cases, a polishing compound may be used for additional luster.

Sealing. We apply a high-quality terrazzo sealer to protect the surface from stains and moisture. The sealer also enhances the floor's color and shine. We allow the sealer to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions for a durable finish.

Final Buffing & Cleanup. We use a high-speed buffer and a polishing pad to enhance the shine and smoothness of the surface. We remove any dust, debris, or residue left from the restoration process and conduct a final inspection.

Maintenance. We give you instructions on how to maintain your newly restored terrazzo floors, including recommended cleaning products and techniques. We also suggest a maintenance schedule to keep the terrazzo in optimal condition, which may include periodic professional polishing and resealing.
